SURFACEFEATURES
"As far as my appearance goes, I'd say I'm relatively normal. Unless you count the eye patch over my right eye of course. To answer your question before you ask it, no it's not just a fashion statement. I had an unfortunate encounter when I was little, but we'll get to that in a bit. On my head I usually wear a red headband, whether I wear it or not depends on my mood really. Along with having received a growlithe from my mentor, he also gave me a set of earrings which I proudly wear to represent his school.
Honestly, if there is a contest for someone having the most unique look, I think I should win it. On top of wearing an eyepatch, headband and earrings, I also wear an orange scarf around my neck. That should be it for my appearance for now I guess."
FACE CLAIM: Lavi; D. Gray Man

"If there's one thing that I absolutely can not stand, it's people calling me by either my first or last name! Yeah it was bad enough to have my last name as 'Cook' but to name me after a food? What kind of sad joke it that? Yup that's right, I'm a Reuben Cook. . . what kinda food is that anyways? A type of sandwich? Well I suppose I could let my closest friends call me by my first name, otherwise, I do prefer being called Lee.
Now let's see. . . as far as how the rest of my personality goes, I think I'm a pretty easy going guy. I absolutely love fire type pokemon, but flying types can be just as awesome! Why do I think this? Well, it's simple. Because there is such a wide variety of them of course! Yeah I could get a flying fire type, but they also come in dark types and there's even an insect version of them somewhere out there. My goals for the future are to eventually become a fire and flying pokemon master!
You know what my favorite type of pokemon is, now let's talk more about my inner thoughts. I enjoy making friends and battling to prove that I'm skilled with the type of pokemon I possess. Battling also helps me improve so that's a bonus I guess. As far as my friends go however, I've learned at a very young age that you should always hold on to those that are closest to you. Never let them go because you never know what's going to happen today or tomorrow. If anyone dares to hurt my friends, I'll stop at nothing to hurt them back! This might seem like petty revenge to the average by stander but someone like me, well let's just say that I can't afford to lose anyone. That's why I'll fight my hardest to protect them!"

BACKGROUNDCHECK
FAMILY:
Jamie Mei Cook ~ Mother 42
Gen Juda Cook ~ Father 50
Mentor (Can be played by anyone with any name, age and faceclaim)
"Although you might not believe me, the start of my pokemon journey really began in a small little town called Ember. Not many people know about it outside of this region. Unlike what its name would suggest, the people living here didn't focus on raising fire type pokemon. I suppose it was because we were a mining town, but the majority of the pokemon there could learn the move 'self destruct'.
Both of my parents worked in the coal mine, it must have been pretty hard work. When you have a family to feed though, then people will do almost anything to make the right amount of money. Regardless of how hard they worked for the extremely low pay they obtained after a days work, we still lived a healthy, happy life.
It happened when I became old enough to leave our town to become a trainer. Team Rocket showed up and started to terrorize us, stealing our pokemon and harming the civilians there. They fought back however, we wouldn't stand for outsiders creating chaos among our only home. Team Rocket persisted though, until finally some of the people in our small town finally gave in to them. My parents went with the other towns people who decided to join that evil organization in the end. I was still a boy so I remained behind, what was I going to do now? In order to become a pokemon trainer, you need the permission of either your parents or current guardian. At this point, I had neither.
I wasn't long after my parents disappeared that I found someone who was willing to teach me. He was only an apprentice at the local pokemon gym at the time, but he was much older then I was and quite knowledgeable when it came to pokemon. For eight years I stayed with him and trained, learning everything I could about pokemon. So it's finally my eighteenth birthday and I'm now old enough to make the decision to leave without the permission of a parent or guardian. My mentor has given me a feisty little growlithe as my first pokemon and I'm sure that with him by my side, we can find my parents and discover the real reason why they left.
