The Pokemon world was always a peaceful place where trainers could work together with their faithful companions, battle other trainers, challenge gym leaders, take on the Pokemon league or participate in contests. So this was their life. . . at least it was until a darkness rose up and threatened their world. The darkness was in the form of an organization known as team rocket.
At first, it seemed that their only intention was to cause havoc and confusion by stealing other peoples Pokemon. This was not the case. While it's true that they did participate in these heinous acts, they were really up to something even more sinister then that. The Pokemon that they successfully managed to steal, were put through a series of awful experiments.
To create a living weapon, that was their goal. Although they seemed to succeed at this secretly for the first fifty years, during that time another organization of Pokemon trainers was formed. This team called itself the Black Order. Their goal was to stop Team Rocket at all costs, even if it meant sacrificing a few humans in the process.
In order to defeat the 'super Pokemon' that were in Team Rocket's possession, they had to come up with something new. The scientists in this group took full grown humans and experimented, trying to fuse a human's and Pokemon's DNA was no easy task. Most of the adults involved with these experiments, passed away soon after they started. A large number of them also ended up going crazy or brain dead. What a mess. . .
It wasn't long before the scientist in charge of this operation discovered that adults did not stand a chance of surviving any kind of human to Pokemon transformation. The reason for this was pretty obvious, their bodies were already full grown. In order for this to become successful, they needed children. Needless to say, after several attempts, the Black Order was finally able to create a human-Pokemon hybrid.
This is where the battle really began. Although they had good intentions, the fact remains that the Black Order used humans as a catalyst in order to make living weapons that could defeat the ones that Team Rocket managed to make. These Gijinka, as they were called, followed the orders of the master scientists that created them. So the battle finally began, for several decades it raged on. Both sides had many losses, and it was almost as if this bloody war would never end.
Nearly five centuries have passed since that dark time. The 'Faded Cross' war is but a distant memory now. Hidden throughout the land are Gijinka species that represent many different Pokemon, but they are merely the ancestors of the ones who fought in the war. For even a Gijinka cannot live on endlessly.
Trainers now pride themselves in finding and befriending the Gijinka in the land. Meanwhile the two teams who started the Faded Cross war, look endlessly for new ways to become stronger and hope to harness the power of these hybrids for their own purposes. So which side will you be on? Will you be one of the trainers who brings salvation to these poor creatures? Or perhaps you will join one of the rival teams in order to become more powerful and start another war that could potentially lead to the demise of this entire world. . .
